Action
Year: 2011

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIvZMCOCp08&feature=plcp

Participation:
Event: PERFORMANCE ROULETTE from the Central Canadian Center for Performance (CCCP)
Place: Transmitted over the web from Bogotá, Colombia; projected in real time across the world and producing the show live from public space available in the center of Winnipeg, Canada.

It deals about "Bodies, Spaces and Frontiers", the construction of a dialog generated between body and environment. When a body moves, it crosses spaces, relates and communicates with other bodies. However, simultaneously it is exposed to limitations that can go from corporal and space frontiers to the geographical frontiers.
General description:
The proposal consists of doing a live transmission from webcam of an action projected in an enclosed space: Three people stand on the floor, in front to web camera. One person goes to displace through the legs of the three standing people. The web camera focuses from the waist to the feet of them.

Workshop-performance
Year: 2010

It is a collective proposal where we developed the conception of “birthday” taking the object of piñata as signal of its celebration. For this performance, we observed the celebration into ambiguous meanings, from the one side common people see it as a way to show that a person is one year old more in his life, from the other side one more year is one more less with life.
The workshop-performance want to people think about the aesthetic of birthdays celebration doing a contrast between the happiness that generate it and simultaneously showing a funereal attitude through the use of objects with opposite colors to common celebration, for instance black and white dresses, land, eggs, the Colombia’s flag and a cake without the typical ingredients. This contrast is referring how Colombian people live a daily routine into opposite feelings such as sadness and happiness, observing day by day problems related with violence and concurrently, enjoying ephemeral experiences.

Avientese
Workshop-performance
Year: 2010
Through it, we wanted to question the contemporaneous artist’s role regarding the society, specially to reflection about collective works and artist creations, artistic methodologies used in common people when an artist want to share his/her experiences. We called it Aviéntese referring to a way to people risk to know them through action art, allowing that they create as well as us.
In this activity each person starts creating an individual work, later, he/she shares with other to do collective art work taking into account his/her own skills, for this reason we use different materials easy to use.

“The Brotherhood of Strangers”

Workshop-performance
Year: 2010
This presentation was a performance plus a workshop where the students had an introduction to know about the artistic expressions related with performance, happening and action art. At the beginning, we started to do a performance which each member had a specific role altering the space through his/her own objects showing particular features regarding their dresses and behaviors. We took the play and pedagogic strategies as main factor taking into account that the presentation was made for a school.

Concreto
Intervention
Year: 2010

With this intervention, we wanted to approach different possibilities to explore public space, thinking and creating new ideas about it. For that reason, we develop this action in a way of dialog with the place through the action of drawing streets, asphalt, sidewalks, grilles and bars on the concrete. We think that those spaces are not conceived as other objects which also inhabits the place due to that people are not completely aware of all their environ and features. In this action we were drawing with bricks and playing with its dust simultaneously. We used bricks because it is common object to make a modern building; in this way, we did an analogy relating to human being when he/she creates a nexus between body and space, destroying and creating things which can already be made, like shapes and lines that reflect specific ideologies over the urban space through his architecture.

Subversive Bodies
Performance
Place: Bogotá, Colombia.
Year: 2010
Geo Corpus was invited to do a presentation in Casa Quince Dieciséis which is a space where people do artistic projects and present their works. Sometimes they did events such as Sessions of “Modelo vivo Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School” that consisted in invited common people to draw models in a presentation. In that moment we did some actions wandering around the space and showing at the same time particular behaviors to random. We had our body modified through prosthesis designed by us because we wanted that it were also as installations, thinking in the bodies as objects put on the space.
